Delivery & returns

1. Shipping and Delivery

1.1 Orders that are ‘in stock’ as shown against the products on this website will normally be processed and despatched within 3-5 business days.

1.2 Made to order and bespoke orders will nominally be despatched by the agreed date or within the specified number of weeks notified once an order has been accepted. A timeframe may also be defined as part of a quote. See terms and conditions of supply for more information. We will endeavour to meet these dates or timeframes.

2. Shipping Costs

2.1 Shipping or delivery costs will appear at the checkout for ‘in stock’ orders and ‘made to order’ orders.

2.2 Delivery costs for bespoke orders will be notified separately and as part of the quote for the order.

3.1 We provide fast and fully trackable worldwide delivery.

3.2 All our parcels are insured.

4. International Shipping Tax

4.1 VAT will be automatically deducted on orders at checkout where applicable.

4.2 As a small business we do not currently apply VAT to our products.

5. Customs and Duties

5.1 All orders are exempt of taxes and duties when shipped outside of the UK. VAT will be automatically deducted on orders at checkout where applicable.

5.2 Please be aware items shipped internationally are subject to custom duties and value added tax fees set by the destination country. These charges vary depending on the country and they are not included or calculated at our checkout.

5.3 Payment for these duties will be requested by our shipping provider.

5.4 We do not take responsibility for any delays that might incur during this process.

5.5 We are not responsible for any import duties payable.

6. Returns

6.1 These are the conditions on which we accept returns.

6.2 Please read these conditions carefully before you request a return. These conditions tell you who we are, how we will accept returns.

7. Accepting Returns

7.1 We are a small company offering bespoke, made to order handmade boxes and other handmade objects/products. We cannot accept cancellations or offer a full refund on any orders after 14 days of the order being placed or for an item(s) that has already been posted/delivered.

7.2 Please ensure all details are correct before placing your order, and that you are happy with all design decisions and materials.

7.3 Orders for current stock or ‘in stock’ items (handmade items available to purchase directly from the website) can be cancelled, partially refunded and returned after 14 days at the discretion of fineboxmaker.com.

7.4 Requests to do so must be made in writing. All cancellations or returns will be subject to a 10% return fee, plus the cost of delivery (if already booked and/or delivered). The cost of the return delivery must be paid by the customer.

7.5 If you are shipping an item over £75, you should use a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.

7.6 Any customs charges in your home country are not refundable. Any customs charges for the return will be charged to the customer.

7.7 Bespoke pieces are non-refundable after 14 days of the order being placed.

7.8 Once an order has been placed, the cost of any changes, and additional/updated design drawings may be charged to the customer. See section 5 of the terms and conditions of supply for more information. We cannot be held responsible for any resulting delays.

7.9 We endeavour to always make and send out quality products, however mistakes can occasionally happen. Should you receive a faulty or damaged item you should notify us as soon as possible. The customer should provide a detailed description in writing, with photographs of the damaged areas within 7 days of receiving the item. Provided evidence is received within 7 days, we will assess the fault and arrange to repair or replace the item as soon as reasonably possible.

7.10 In the case of faulty/damaged goods, or an incorrect order being received, we will ensure all necessary steps are taken to provide you with the correct item, however we cannot offer any refunds, reimbursements, discounts or compensation as a result.

7.11 We cannot offer refunds, reimbursements, discounts or compensation for orders delayed for any reason beyond our direct control.

7.12 To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

8. Processing Returns

8.1 Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

8.2 If approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will be applied to your original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.
