Large valet box in American Black Walnut and Sutherland Tartan designed for the client’s watches, cufflinks and personal accessories, including sgian-dubh.

Handmade in dark and chocolate-brown Walnut burr and reddish-brown Kingwood, lined with ivory silk and Sutherland tartan.

• Contents —

  The open lid reveals compartments for four watches, each with a tartan roll.  Rear central compartment holds a silver kilt pin and brooch in the shape of a sword and shield.  Compartments at the front on either side hold silver collar stiffeners, with central compartment holding a sgian dubh (sock knife).  Ring compartments are also provided.

  The front panel lowers to reveal three removable Walnut drawers. The top drawer has 3 small compartments and a larger section for pens.  The second drawer has fifteen compartments for cufflinks.  The third drawer has four sections of varying sizes.

  A hidden side panel secretes a small Walnut drawer which holds a scroll from the client’s father.

• Fittings —

  Stainless steel stopped hinges and a stainless steel lock.

• Interior —

  Green Sutherland tartan and ivory handwoven silk.

• Exterior —

  Dark chocolate Walnut burr with golden coffee brown and black swirls across the box. The Walnut edges are a lighter coffee colour. Dark purple and red-brown Kingwood lines separate the two Walnuts.

  The lid includes a centrally located crest in Fiddleback Sycamore.

• Finish —

  High sheen shellac finishes the box.
